Heres a recently finished poster for a local Dramatic Society production of Harold Pinters The Birthday Party; A powerful play about Stanley Webber, an erstwhile (and bespectacled) piano player, who lives in a rundown, English seaside-town boarding house, run by Meg and Petey Boles. Two sinister strangers, Goldberg and McCann, who arrive supposedly on his birthday and who appear to have come looking for him, turn Stanley’s apparently innocuous birthday party organized by Meg into a living nightmare. A mindbender of a play that’s well worth a read.
